Ridiculous Cute Critter Question

Jade, you don't need my approval for a change like that. We're a wiki, with user-created content. If the userbase doesn't like the changes, they'll be changed back or into something else. For the most part, we admins do not have final say.

Now on the subject of copyright, yeah, we have final say, but I have no idea what copyright issue you think you see. All our initial content -- including the image -- was acquired before TVT changed their license terms, and as such we can use it. There is no legal need to get rid of that image. If you have a better image, cool. But there's nothing that says we must change the image.

Jade Shauni (talkcontribs)

That's why I'm asking you both, since I don't want to undo someone's work or get rid of an already safe image.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Unless told otherwise, assume all our images imported from TVT at the time of the fork are safe. The only exceptions might be the very, very few that have a comment in the page source that says something like "permission to use granted by thus-and-so at random-website.com", in which case that permission might only be granted to TV Tropes and not by extension to us. But there are vanishingly few of these images, and most have already been replaced or commented out of visibility.

Thanks, I'll wait until SelfCloak says something. So, how do I know when an image is ONLY granted to TVT?

You contact the artist, if there is sufficient information in the artwork or as comments within the page source to identify and reach them.
