I apologize for how I've talked to you and for how I handled things in the past. Whether you forgive me or not, I will try to keep things civil with you going forward and should I get my mod status back, I will keep myself working within the limits Geth asked of me and I agreed to.

But I ask of you please...please think things through regarding the Example Sectionectomy proposal? This trope as defined by the criteria on this Wiki means a lot to me and many others who frequently visit this Wiki because of the subpages and examples making it a worthy alternative to the TV Tropes version. If we were to nuke them all, not only would we have finally crossed a line into being no better than TV Tropes, but we'd have done so due to the actions of a single persistent ban evader who has for years been trying to bend this trope to suit her views on here, on Wikia, on TV Tropes, and any other Wiki to feature this trope. Purging the trope following her actions will send a dangerous message of validation - that if she couldn't have her way with the trope, than no one could contribute to the trope here ever again.

I'm against the proposal. As is Geth. And Lulzkiller is clearly unsure about it since there were other means of helping the trope's situation that they proposed. I implore you to please consider the years of effort and care that would be going to waste if your proposal is met. While the ATT Wikia version is fine too, the trope as it is on this site is the version of it I preferred working with and the one I enjoyed looking at more. The last thing I would ever want to see is for it to all go because of that stupid ban evader. If that happens, she wins. And that's not something that neither Geth or I are keen on seeing happen.

It's been four months... and the second thing you did with relation to me was try to close this discussion with a note saying that neither of us has forgiven the other. Maybe you never forgave me for enforcing Rule 1 of the Terms of Service and Rule 4 of the Tropers' Code, but as far as I'm concerned, there was nothing to forgive - only rules to be followed.

(The first thing you did with relation to me was to ask to be my foe. Don't ask a mod to be your foe. I've refused that request for your sake.)

Whether you "forgive" me or not is, honestly, none of my concern. You do what you want, and as long as you don't break the rules (including Rule 1 of the Terms of Service) I'll continue ignoring you.

As for the Example Sectionectomy, it's benefited the wiki immensely. The Moderation Team has had time to work on other problems instead of spending so much effort on one time sink. I'm surprised that you want the headaches of dealing with it.

DocColress (talkcontribs)

Perhaps "forgive" isn't the correct word. It meant "we cannot and likely never will find each other and our positions agreeable." That's why I just couldn't find it in my heart to ask to be your friend like I could for literally every other user here. I didn't feel like being your enemy either, but "foe" was the only available option close enough to "not friend" that I had.

Good for the Moderation Team; the only price the Wiki had to pay in the process was kowtowing to a serial ban evader and purging months and years of hard work and effort from it's history. That's why I'd take the headache of dealing with that time sink even if I have to be the only person to have to do it (like I was for a while here on ATT, and things were better off for it I might add.)

GethN7 (talkcontribs)

Doc, consider this the official ATT position. The excising of CM examples here is FINAL.

Second, really, you just had to use the "Foe" tag when you came back? It's a silly feature that means NOTHING anyway, it just proves you haven't moved on from four months ago. We'd disable it if it wasn't embedded in the rest of a feature we use.

Also, you are free to deal with that mess, you want to shoulder that burden. We don't, you are wasting your time expecting the hands of time to turn back.

You step on any more toes again, and this time I will have to make your block on BOTH ATT's permanent. Not out of malice to you, so don't assume I hate you, but because I must ensure we don't have more drama like four months ago.

DocColress (talkcontribs)

I already knew that. The days where ATT had anyone willing to actually manage examples on a highly subjective trope are far behind it; I wasn't doubting that for a second. It was nice while it lasted, I was proud of the work I did and have no regrets about it, but it's just not the world we live in anymore, regardless of whether or not I think there's good reason for that. This is why people will have to look to TV Tropes and The True Tropes for that rather than All the Tropes or Villains Wiki from now on.

Again, it's not that I'm looking to make an outright enemy out of anyone or get into a fight over four months ago, it's that I honestly think that if I'm welcome back to this Wiki, then Robkelk and I would both benefit if we were to deal with each other as little as humanly possible. That way, any old wounds about what happened months ago is avoided altogether.

I don't expect the hands of time to turn back. I just hope that through TTT, this simple point can be proven; it was never as hard and time consuming as you all made it out to be when you decided you didn't want to deal with an example-filled version of that trope anymore.

I understand. I think Robkelk here is the only one who'll never see eye to eye with me, and that's why I'd rather draw a line in the sand where he's concerned so that I don't step on his toes and that doesn't escalate into anything worse.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

'it's that I honestly think that if I'm welcome back to this Wiki, then Robkelk and I would both benefit if we were to deal with each other as little as humanly possible.'

Agreed. Please take this discussion to some place other than my Talk page.
