When adding examples to tropes in the future, please include the italics and link markup on the work names -- and make sure you're putting the work name in the proper form. For example, in your recent addition to Tragic Monster, you simply put the work name as

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated

when it should have been

''[[Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated]]''

which would appear in the text as Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.

Doing this will reduce the load on the moderation staff, who currently have follow behind your contributions and clean up after you.

If you're uncertain what the proper capitalization, spelling and punctuation of a work name is, you can use our search box to find the work, at the very worst by a process of elimination.

Thank you.

It has been two weeks since this request was made and you have neither acknowledged it (or any other communications other than those in the first thread posted here), nor have you begun marking up work names as we've asked.

This is now an official warning. The admins of the wiki have too much other work to do here to have to follow along behind you and fix every one of your edits. If you do not respond to this thread in some manner within the next 48 hours, we will be forced to give you a non-punitive two-day "attention-getter" tempban. Tempbans will continue -- and get longer -- as long as you refuse to reply, until we give up on you entirely and turn it into a permanent ban. It is in your interest to respond.

@TVGarbage, I see from the Recent Changes list that you were online and editing after @Looney Toons posted the above message. Your failure to look at your own discussion page does not fill me with hope that you will respond within the time limit you have been given. 18 of your 48 hours have already passed, as of this posting.

It is in your interest to respond - especially with anonymous editing temporarily disabled.

@TVGarbage : You have about four hours -- until approximately 2:15 PM Eastern Time -- to respond to this thread. If you do not reply, you will receive a non-punitive 2-day "attention getter" tempban.

Save us all the trouble -- please reply.

Thank you.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Sorry, I wasn't feeling my best!

Labster (talkcontribs)

Do you understand what you’re being asked to do?

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Yeah.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Are you going to do it?

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Yep.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Thank you.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

You're welcome, I've found the admins here to be a bit irritating but at least you were polite to me.

GethN7 (talkcontribs)

Alright, we noticed your edits are starting to go back to being what prompted us to start these messages, and we may have to give you a temp ban for quite awhile if you still cannot be bothered with proper italic and link markup.

Consider this your last warning before the blocks fall.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

I'm trying to make sure they're italicized.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Not just italicized, but in the proper form with link markup as well -- see the very first message in this thread for what we're talking about.

EDIT: A prime example is your recent edit to Double Entendre. The film in question is actually called The Princess and the Frog, not Princess and the Frog. And we have a page on it, to which we want examples like this one to link. This is why we asked you to use the correct name for works (including any punctuation in them) and put them in link markup. It's not difficult -- thousands of other users both here and on TVT do it every day.

TVGarbage (talkcontribs)

Whoops.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I don't like being the bad guy, but when something's been brought to my attention, I don't have much choice.

This edit shows that you're still only doing part of the work needed to make edits that look the way the wiki's Style Guide recommends.

I'm going to give you 48 hours to reply here, saying in your own words what has been pointed out to you in this thread. I'm asking you to rephrase things the way you would say them, so that we all know that you understand what it is that we're asking of you.

Failure to respond will result in another "attention-getter" block of your account, this time for a full week.

I guess I forgot to italicize Recess...I've been trying to remember that though.

In my defense, I did provide a link to that particular cartoon page.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

In that particular example. Recess: School's Out has its own page, so linking "Recess" and ignoring the rest of the movie's name will send the user to the wrong work. We'd rather not see that. Please at least put in a moment's effort to see if the work has a page here and what the name is, to correctly link it.
