Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen/YMMV

Badass Decay: Megatron and Starscream. Megatron's case is more arguable than in the following film, however, since he still engages in quite a bit of genuine combat and manages to kill Optimus (though he gets better). Starscream, meanwhile, has been reduced to a complete joke and a Butt Monkey of sorts.
- Which was, after all, his original role in the cartoon. Of course, some were going to complain whether Bay changed things, left them alone, or changed them back.
Critical Dissonance: Considered one of the worst action movies, scratch that, worse movies of the 2000s. The disjointed editing, the bare-bones plot, unfunny if not outright disgusting jokes and subplots, let's just say the movie is hated by both Transformers fans and critics. It still made millions on the box office.
Non Sequitur Scene: The scene with the Allspark fragment from the first film falling into the kitchen, turning his kitchen appliances into destructive feral Transformers, a fight ensues, the house is destroyed. Afterward, this scene is never mentioned again, despite likely being used to establish the power of just one Allspark fragment.
Contested Sequel: Everyone agrees the Sequel Escalation was excessive, but the final opinion is divided between "mindless fun" or "total abomination".
Ensemble Darkhorse: Jetfire, Sideswipe and Simmons (the latter of which was Rescued from the Scrappy Heap).
Ho Yay:
- Between Megatron and Starscream.

- Leo and Simmons always seemed real close to some.
Harsher in Hindsight: Mikaela says to Sam that she loves him after he is killed by Megatron? That love won't last long.
Hilarious in Hindsight: There's an entire scene with alien mecha wrecking battleships...
Hype Backlash: Presumably why this movie was hyped as "the worst movie of 2009" to some and beat out Dragonball freaking Evolution and similar worse-reviewed flops at the Razzies.
- Never Live It Down: Before the release of ROTF, the first Transformers movie was pretty well-liked but still debatable (even being nominated for a People's Choice Award). After the release of ROTF, people started lumping the first movie together with its sequels as one of the "worst action movies of all time", and generally feel that any sequel released will inevitably fall into the same pit of putrid quality (including the one that's already been released).
  - All of which probably has much more to do with Michael Bay's Hatedom than any objective quality of the movie(s).
Memetic Mutation: Optimus' line "Give me your face!" right before tearing the Fallen's face off.
The Scrappy / Ethnic Scrappy / Alien Scrappy: Mudflap and Skids, who were also a Spotlight-Stealing Squad along with the humans (and, less unfavorably, Bumblebee). Thankfully, Michael Bay recognized how unpopular they were, and they managed to avoid the Creator's Pet curse by being almost completely cut from the sequel (and by being killed off by Sentinel Prime in its adaptations).
So Bad It's Good: Yes, despite what critics may say, there's a reason why it was such a box-office smash.
Special Effects Failure: It's plainly obvious that the rendering and animation of the robots (Bar Devastator) during all of the desert scenes aren't up to par as the rest of the movie. Also, the scene were Starscream backs up into a hatchling's pod looks stiff and unnatural.
Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Optimus? Megatron? Most of the movie focuses on Sam, Mikaela, Leo and the Twins. To be fair, Bumblebee gets just as much screen time, but this is often overlooked by the fans.
