If anyone has a better name, I'll remove the butterfly thing in the description.
Trope Workshop talk:Butterfly Regeneration
Any chance we should change the name to something more snake or serpent, because their symbolic affiliation with healing?
Shed Skin Healing?
Can we get more examples?
Five isn't enough to launch, but is enough to verify that this isn't Too Rare to Trope.
The current definition doesn't explicitly include or exclude the new healed body being the same form as the old one. I was thinking we should take an explicit stance in the article description, but I'm not sure what the stance should be. Thoughts?
Since the trope itself doesn't exclude cases where the new body has a different form than the older one (as such a regenerative method can cover everything from the new body being similar but younger-looking that the old, to completely different appearances), I don't think there should be a clarification on that aspect..However, if you you want to include one, go ahead, the more words for expanding the trope he better.
I like the "can have any appearance" option. After all, a real-world butterfly doesn't look like a caterpillar.
We just need to contrast this with cases where the new body is a new lifeform (e.g. the chestburster from Alien).
Well it's not liked we are locked in with the current name either.
We don't get a good look at the injury in this image, but I was wondering if it was good enough anyways. http://i.imgur.com/W9u7my8.jpg
