I've just reverted your change to So Bad It's Horrible/Literature...

...for massive violation of our Style Guide. Your addition of excessive and unnecessary boldface to practically every work name and virtually anything else that caught your eye was unwanted and unsightly. Your changes to the text were okay, but sheer quantity of needless boldfacing made reversion far more practical than going in and manually undoing every instance you added.

Please don't do that again.

I am so sorry. I'll go back and redo it without all the godawful boldface. I only did that to highlight what each entry was talking about (which was unnecessary in hindsight).

We need your opinion

Noticed by a mod, and fixed by the troper.

I have just deleted the page you created, Lily's Day Off, because as you were so very brave to admit in the edit reason, it was a simple mindless cut-and-paste of the page of the same name at TV Tropes. This is copyright violation -- TV Tropes and All The Tropes have different Creative Commons licenses, and as a result we cannot legally use TVT content from after July 2012. Unless you were the only person to ever work on that page and can grant us a license to its entire content, it cannot be used here. Consequently it has been deleted in order to protect the wiki from legal liability.

You are free to recreate the deleted page completely in your own words. Before you do, though, we would recommend that you review the following pages that you may find helpful:

Further, if you intend on recreating the page, please use the ATT Page Creator tool, which I've just linked to there, but which can also be found in the menu that runs along the left edge of every page on the wiki, the first entry under the "Troping Utilities" section. Using the page creator's "works page" option will start you with a skeleton page with all the mininum markup needed to create a fully-functional works page -- markup your slapdash cut'n'paste job was totally lacking.

Finally we strongly recommend that you read How We Do Bans Around Here. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky -- and that you know what we do ban people for, and what it takes, so you can avoid future problems.

It is, however, sadly necessary to inform you that by the guidelines on that page, you are the recipient of a formal warning. Further attempts at copyright violation will be met with a temp ban.

Please reply to this message so we know we've reached you. Thanks.

I understand. If you don't mind, I'd like to recreate the "Lily's Day Off" page by hand, using my own words.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

I for one do not mind you doing that.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

That's exactly what we'd like you to do. As a helpful hint, the actual list of tropes that appear in the work is not copyrighted -- that's a collection of facts, which can't be copyrighted. So you don't need to recreate that -- just the descriptions of how they apply to the work.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

And you'll have to recreate the description of the work, of course.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Well. That's a good first try. But it's still missing all of the markup that makes it a functional wiki page -- markup that would have been automatically inserted for you had you used the Page Creator as I'd strongly suggested above. Nor did you apparently read our Style Guide. I have gone in and added all the mandatory, required markup. And removed all the unneeded html line breaks -- where did you get the idea that they were needed?

Please don't do this in the future. We've gone well out of our way to provide tools that do 90% of the hard work for users, and seeing someone just drop a mostly-unformatted page into the wiki after being pointed at those tools is ... well, annoying, and close to meriting another warning. Go to the Style Guide and read its "tl;dr" section right now -- and take it to heart. Then read the Works Page Guidelines. This is a formal request from the moderation staff.

EDIT: I was so focused on the markup, I missed something important in the content -- don't cram two or more works into a single page. Create a separate page for the sequel game.

Zierin705 (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your help, and sorry for the trouble. It won't happen again.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

No problem. You're clearly learning from your mistakes and every iteration is an improvement. That puts you miles ahead of the drive-by users who drop an illegally-copied page into the wiki and then never come back.

In the interests of helping you improve, here's a link you may find useful when you decide it's time to add images to your pages: All The Tropes:Uploading and Adding an Image to a Page
