Wizardry/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Author Existence Failure: Sir-Tech did not survive to see Wizardry 8 published; the Sir-Tech that released Wizardry 8 renamed themselves to that name for the sole purpose of getting Sir-Tech's name on the box before release.
  • No Export for You: The Japanese series instead replaces it with a different and more traditional entry in the series, Throb of the Demon Heart.
    • They still included it in their "New Age of Llylgamyn" set, which included the original and Japanese remake; as well as Bane of the Cosmic Forge. We don't have an English version of the Japanese remake though.
  • Port Overdosed: The original 1981 game was ported to practically every computer then in existence and several after. Additionally, its unexpected popularity in Japan led to several console ports as well.
    • Sadly it never made it to any of the Atari computers (8 or 16-bit).
