• Ascended Fanon:
  • Fans theorized that Mason would somehow come back at one point, reverting to his human-like form. This turns out to be what the last few episodes of Season 3 revolve around.
  • Harper is constantly being written by fans as a girl who has a terrible life at home, and is eventually forced to live with the Russos. In Season 3, she moves in.
  • Ever since Zeke's introduction, he was paired with Harper by fans, due to their similar Sidekick statuses. In recent episodes, they have a love interest growing.
  • Many fan stories have been written about Alex fearing Justin leaving for college, and coming up with wacky hijinks to stop him from leaving. In Delinquent Justin, this turns out to be the entire plot, which she has been planning for four years in advance. The entire episode, especially the end, is a Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming.
  • One of the most famous fanfics in the Jalex fandom, In Fire, In Ice, revolves around the government finding out about magic, and the government hunting down/imprisoning all wizards, and Justin and Alex going on the run desperately trying to survive. In the Season 3 finale, the government finds out about magic and imprisons the Russos along with numerous other wizards.
    • Of course this was all fake as it was just a test by Professor Crumbs
• Actor Allusion: "Off The Chain" is mentioned by Alex who's actor Selena Gomez has a song called Off The Chain in the episode Eat To The Beat.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: While this is a live-action show, it still feels weird seeing Coop and Hawkgirl as parents to these kids.
  • Don't you mean Bug Pollone/Pete Shanahan as their father?
  • Also, Alucard the vampire is Kuja!
  • Don't forget that his wife was Lisa Stemple and Juliet was one of Nick Jonas' 'fall too hard, too fast' crushes.
  • Also, Selena Gomez did a brief stint as Hannah Montana's competitor in Hannah Montana.
  • Who knew that Rico would be a good conscience for Max?
  • Tommy Webber as a top-secret government scientist.
  • Gibby is a Wiz World executive.
  • Spencer is apparently apart of a snooty, sophisticated group of wizards.
  • Shakira is actually Uncle Kelbo in disguise.
  • T.J. Taylor is a spy and don't forget, a a 15-year old boy who can control nanites and build machines from his body, fighting EVO monsters.
  • Mr. Frenchie is Mozzie.
  • Bennie and Ernie show up as Theresa's mom and luchador Muy Macho respectively.
  • CeCe dated Max in one episode.
    • Deuce is Max's conscience's conscience
  • Doc Venture is the father of another of Max's girlfriends.
  • The karate instructor from the Shake It Up episode "Kick It Up" is the manager of the 13th floor, where Alex and Harper have their apartment. But he turns out to be Gorog in disguise. He also appeared in Hannah Montana as a monotone casting agent.
  • The actor who played him in his true form was Linwood Murrow in Angel.
  • Justin himself is actually Ted Mosby's son from the future.
  • Fez is Uncle Ernesto.
• Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • Charlie Adler shows up in one episode as a talking report card.
  • See above. Again, Coop. And Hawkgirl. Waaaaay out of character.
  • Adam Carolla as Cab 804, the taxi Alex brought to life.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Gigi is Chloe King.
  • Rosie is Glimmer
  • A lot of future Disney Channel stars appeared on the program. As mentioned above, Bella Thorne was in one episode. Also, Bridgit Mendler was Juliet, Adam Irogoyen was Conscience's conscience, Tiffany Thornton was one of Justin's friends in an episode, Chelsea Staub was a love interest for Justin in one episode, China Anne McClain was Rosie the junior Guardian Angel in an episode, and so on.
• Shout-Out:
  • To Bono and Harry Potter.
  • Alex's boyfriend's name is Dean Moriarty.
  • The Principal's name is Mr. Larritate. Larry Tate was Darrin's boss on Bewitched. Similarly, Alex's art teacher, Ms. Majorhealey, is named for an I Dream of Jeannie character.
  • The vampire father in the special is named Alucard. Although it is in question whether or not it's a shout out to Castlevania.
    • Alucard has been used as an alias/CaptainErsatz for Dracula many times before Castlevania so maybe, maybe not. Regardless it's still a shout out to the Count himself.
  • Also from the vampire special, could they get any less subtle than naming the girl Juliet?
  • To Michael Jackson in "Wizards and Vampires vs. Zombies":

Female Zombie: One music video and we're expected to dance battle everywhere.

• • In "Franken Girl", Justin brings his creation to life using 1.21 gigawatts of electricity.
  • Leave it Justin to nerd up a Scarface reference:

• • From the taxi episode: the cab company is called the Sunshine Cab Company.
  • Jerry talks about his childhood, hanging out with John Bender and Ponyboy. Ponyboy gets mentioned again in a later episode, along another friend, Ben Kenobi.
  • Notice how the portrait of Mr. and Mrs. Russo is moving in the theme song.
  • This little gem.

  • To Twilight in "Wizards vs. Vampires" and "Wizards vs. Werewolves".
  • Mason shares the same last name as another british werewolf, Fenrir Greyback.
  • The spell to create an outlaw in the Old West dream Alex created is "Bad bad Leroy Brown, run Laritate out of town", a reference to an old Jim Croce song.
  • The name of the Baseball Episode: The Supernatural.
  • The name Harper Finkle could be a Shout-Out to Harvey Kinkle.
  • More Sabrina Shout-Outs: Plastic being the weakness of magic and a Secret-Chaser named Brad who suffers from Chuck Cunningham Syndrome.
  • The spell to have a picture frame show you what's happening in other places is a reference to Duran Duran.
  • In "Hugh's Not Normous", Alex and Justin mimic an exchange from The Breakfast Club:

Justin: What was that ruckus?" Alex: What ruckus? Justin: I heard a ruckus. Alex: Can you describe the ruckus?

• Throw It In: All Myths Are True, as long as they can be Played for Laughs.
• What Could Have Been: Had the producers stuck with their original idea of Justin and Alex beings friends not siblings, all of the awkwardness involving the popularity of Jalex could've been avoided. Although there is much debate as to whether they'd still act like the same lovable yet snarky couple, if they weren't related.
  • In Delinquent Justin when Theresa tells Justin and Alex to just say that they love one another (in a non-Squick manner, of course), they both say, "No, we don't!" Everyone was assuming that the producers were saving that up for a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming in the Grand Finale. Turns out that they either overlooked it or didn't want to focus on their relationship over the wizard competition.
  • The family was originally supposed to be Irish, but was changed for Gomez.
