Carrie/Nightmare Fuel

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

When you're making a movie based on a Stephen King novel, this stuff kind of goes with the territory.

  • The very last scene of the movie, where Carrie's hand reaches up from the ashes to grab Sue, terrified an entire generation of moviegoers, and helped to establish the "final reel Jump Scare" as a horror movie tradition.
  • The entire premise of an Ordinary High School Student snapping and going on a murder spree. Especially Harsher in Hindsight.
  • In the 1976 movie, the shot of Carrie covered in pig's blood.
  • In the 2002 film, Carrie doesn't just get sprayed with blood, she gets drowned in it. This Carrie's face is covered completely with blood.
    • Made even creepier while she's in complete control in the 2013 and (debatably) 1976 film, 2002 Carrie is practically having a seizure on the stage. As if her powers took over her.
