Raidou Kuzunoha VS King Abaddon/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Anticlimax Boss: In both fights against Binbou-gami (who is a Fiend, a race which is usually made up of impossibly hard bonus bosses), he is frail to fire; Pyro Blade/Pyro Killer allows you to keep him stun locked for the entire boss fight. He even makes his weakness blatant in the dialog! (Warm you up? Alright.)
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: At the end of chapter 6 there is a huge one for Raidou and Taotie, because they work together to eat the space between the Gate in the capital and the pojitrawn in the village they are in.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Also double as Crack Pairing. There are more fan art of Moh Shuvuu and Raidou than any other.
  • Ho Yay: Binbou-gami wants more of Raidou's "whip of love."
    • There seems be a lot more Ho Yay jokes in this game compared to the last one...
    • Well, Narumi is there to look out for Raidou and his emotional well being. No, I'm not kidding. It's in the character profile.
  • Narm: Dahn's laugh when the Apollyons came through the Gate. Not helped by being the only voice acting in the game due to the game being styled after a silent film of the 20s.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Oh yes.
  • Tear Jerker: Your demons always write you letters before being fused together, which may come in this variety.

"The letter was stained with tears so it was illegible."

    • Some are actually funny: there are letters "written a highly idiosyncratic prose style", and you'll sometimes get a letter addressed to someone else entirely.

"It was written in blood!"

  • The Untwist: The game doesn't pretend you won't recognize Lucifer. He even flat out talks to the (normally invisible) demons you send on solo missions, though you can get his hair on New Game+.
  • Woolseyism: See Gratuitous English and Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness. Because obviously the former doesn't work when the whole script is in English.
    • And of course there's the whole "authentic Jazz Age slang" thing, which is a definite part of the game's charm and is not present in the original at all.
