Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Arc Fatigue: Carrie and Devin's Will They or Won't They? storyline drags on the entire time they compete on the show. It even gets to the point when MacArthur tells them to just kiss already in "Last Tango in Buenos Aires," which also happens to be the episode where they get eliminated due to Devin being severely injured.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Emma is condescending to her sister, Kitty, and isn't very trusting of others at first. But her attitude becomes understandable when you realize that she's still hurt from her breakup with Jake, which occurred three years prior to the show.
    • Noah is as snarky as ever, but when Emma breaks up with him at the end of "Maori or Less," sending him into an episode-long funk in the process, it's very easy to feel bad for him.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Inverted with Don. While he still has some egotistical moments, unlike Chris, he cares more about the contestants and does not change the rules on a whim, making Don the superior host in the fans' eyes.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: While the spin-off isn't without its critics, it has overall been much better-received than the All-Stars and Pahkitew Island season[1] from the original series.
  • Too Good to Last: Despite the series proving to be popular with Total Drama fans, only one season has been produced as of 2023.

  1. Singular season, as PI is officially the second half of Season 5
