We Happy Few is a survival video game that takes place in the 1960s in an alternate time line where the Nazis invaded Britain. The inhabitants of Wellington Wells resorted to something Very Bad. After the war, it's denizen have decided to take a powerful anti-depressant known as "Joy". People that don't take there Joy are known as "Downers". Downers are pariahs that, upon discovery, are met with violence until the Downer takes his Joy or dies, whichever happens first. Alternatively Downers might literally be held down and administered Joy. Usually it's the former.
