Celebrity Deathmatch/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Acceptable Target: Most celebrities, depending on who you ask.
  • Non Sequitur Scene: James Gandolfini's dream sequence during his match with Robert De Niro. Also Crosses the Line Twice.
  • Crosses the Line Twice
  • Distracted From Death: Marv seems to be more interested in Pamela Anderson to be bother on what Marilyn Manson did to Hanson and Spice Girls.
  • Epileptic Trees: It was strongly implied that The Masked Man was Michael Jackson, as his pale skin, high-pitched voice, eccentric dance moves, and habit of seductively leering towards little boys (often distracting him long enough to allow the other guy to get a hit in, causing him to flee screaming) were all dead giveaways. Despite this, nobody could ever quite figure out who he was.
  • Funny Aneurysm Moment:
    • In the Penn & Teller vs. Siegfried and Roy fight, a tiger is used as a weapon at one point. Since Roy's real-life mishap with the tiger, parodies in which their tiger goes berserk just don't seem quite as funny.
    • During their fight, Medusa tail-whips Steve Irwin in the chest and sends him out of the ring. Once he recovers, he reaches inside the wound holds his heart out and then puts it back on its place saying "What a stinger!".
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Brandy Norwood gives Courtney Love a bear club as a sign of peace, only for the latter to be attacked by a real Mama Bear. Norwood is left in tears, as she feels guilty about causing the life of another person. Fast-forward to 2006, that's when the real Brandy Norwood crashed her car into another, killing the driver of that car. Norwood felt awful about the matter, and she eventually settled the matter out of court.
    • In Deathbowl '98, Emma is subject to bisection in the hands of Isaac and Taylor Hanson, Fast forward to the real-life Emma Bunton is later diagnosed with Endometriosis, which is known to cause infertility at least a third of suffers. Luckily, Bunton was able to become a mother of 2, but still.
    • Speaking of Emma, she also had her left hand CUT CLEAN OFF thanks to the lighting crushing on her and everyone else, except Mills. As the camera looks at the aftermath, Mel B suffered the least and likely survived. Forward to 2018, where the real Mel B almost lost her RIGHT HAND in a nasty fall.
  • Hate Sink: Debbie may have been a jerkass, but she at least didn't get the same level as Tally Wong.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In two separate matches, Al Gore kills "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale kills George W. Bush. In the 2000 Presidental Election, Bush defeated Gore.
    • In the Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera match, Britney rips Christina's hair out, leaving her bald. Guess who wound up shaving her head...
    • In the Nicolas Cage vs. John Travolta fight (which referenced their film Face Off by literally switching their faces), Cage slathered Travolta's face in honey and allowed bees to attack him. No points guessing why this is hilarious.
    • A decade or so ago, during the Time Travel episode, there was a fight between Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper. Today, not only is there a video game called "Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper", but......
    • At the end of the "Sex, Lugs, and Rock and Roll" episode, after falling off of the announcer's booth, Nick ends up having what are now called "derp eyes".
    • During the "David Arquette vs. Paul Reiser" fight, David's sister Rosana calls him, demanding to be in Scream 4. David's response? "Rosanna, I told you: 'No more "Scream" movies!'" And in comes 2011...
    • In a 1999 episode, they finally got the time machine going and Ghani up against Genghis Khan. Fast Forward to an episode of Clone High, where Ghani's clone steals the mascot of a rival school with the help of the clone of... Genghis Khan.
    • If you wanna really go back, checkout DeathBowl '98. Howard Stern and Spice Girls were on featured on that episode. Fast Forward to America's Got Talent, where Mel B is among the judges along with... you got it... Howard Stern.
      • Making it such as humorousness, Geri and Emma were interview by Stern in 2002 and 2005, respectfully.
      • RuPaul was featured on the same episode and Mel B later appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015 while Emma Bunton appeared in 2018, then Melanie C in 2022.
    • In an episode, Alanis Morissette and Jewel were featured in a ladder match. Fast-forward to 2017, where there were two Money in the Bank matches, one of them was a women's match. Someone in the creative team must've been a fan and listened to the crowd.
    • Going back to DeathBowl 98, with Howard Stern's finishing move... fast-forward to 2004 thanks to Bo Rai Cho.
  • Memetic Sex God: Sting can make love for 8 hours without resting.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • Nick Diamond vs. Zatar the Alien.
    • Another one for Nick in "Nick's Return": Having been in a coma for 2 episodes, he forces himself awake after hearing on TV that the producer's jerk of a son will replace him if did a good enough job subbing for him that night.
      • It gets better! Once he's awake, Nick broke said TV (probabily in anger), stole an ambulance, drove back to the stadium, KO'ed said son via headbutt, and went back to work in time for the episode's main event, "Marilyn Manson vs. Garth Brooks".
    • Nick and Johnny fighting Sam Donaldson (because he tried to take over their show by claiming they were dead) in "A Celebrity Deathmatch Special Report."
    • The next episode, with Blink-182 and 98 Degrees, is one big CMOA, mainly because it has the two bands fighting in huge ass Gundam-esque robots for most of the episode.
  • More Popular Spinoff: This show originated from Cartoon Sushi.
  • Most Annoying Sound: In the last two seasons, any time one of the parodied celebrities repeats their "catchphrase" to the point of annoyance.

Ali G: Booyah ka sha!
Kevin Federline: I'll put a ring on your finger.

  • The Problem with Licensed Games: A pitifully short roster, career mode, create-a-celebrity, weak controls, etc. will mean you will do everything possible in the game within two hours.
  • Seasonal Rot: The two seasons that resulted after the show was Uncancelled are widely believed to be worse than the previous ones, mainly because show creator Eric Fogel wasn't as involved with the production.
  • Special Effects Failure:
    • When Tally Wong frowns, her lips are merely turned upside down. It's rather obvious.
    • In sort of a weird connection to the show the fighters come from, if you look closely during the "Beavis vs. Butthead" fight, specifically when Beavis's fart gets ignited, you can clearly see that Butthead is holding an invisible lighter.
  • Squick: Barbara Bush taking off her panties for Gavin Rossdale.
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
  • Unexplained Recovery: Quite a few...
    • In Death bowl '98, Emma is somehow still alive and gets up after Mel B yells "Girl Power" despite her injuries.
    • Slaughter and the City, Kristin Davis also has this despite being poisoned by Kim Cattrall, much to the Scourer's dismay. Davis, yet, does offer some kind of reason as she "never swallow" the drink.
  • What an Idiot!: Little Richard tearing off his own nipples and bleeding to death in his fight against Lil' Kim.
    • When Rob Zombie became a real zombie, he spiked his own brain. For anyone who are familiar with zombie tropes, is it destroying the brain of a zombie is how one kills it?
  • What Do You Mean It's Not Awesome?
