The Suicide Squad is a 2021 superhero black comedy film that is a standalone sequel/soft reboot to Suicide Squad. It was directed and written by James Gunn and featured Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Sylvester Stallone as the voice of King Shark and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. It will have a spin-off show called Peacemaker with Cena returning for the title role on HBO Max. The film was better received than the 2016 film, with praise for Gunn’s direction and screenplay.
