Why the mixed Theme Naming on The A-Team Expys?

Why name the yacht captain after TV!Hannibal (Peppard) and name the rest of the crew after the movie versions? Was Lady of Pale Emerald Fires afraid calling him "Captain Neeson" would give the game away too quickly? If that's the case, are "Cooper," "Copley" and "Jackson" that much less recognizable than "Shultz," "Benedict" and "Tureaud?"
