The Literary Legacy of Ophelia/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Character sheet for The Literary Legacy of Ophelia.

Ophelia Krueger

But I'm no hero. You'll find somebody else better.

The protagonist. Unsure of herself and her purpose, living in her older sister's shadow. Knows martial arts and is extremely wise about many social norms, her attempt to make up for her lack of book smarts and "individuality."

Do you dislike my WONDERFUL choice of SILVERWARE? THE TABLE GODS WILL HUNT YOUR HIDE...!

Kanon Wright, aka Iago

Pray to the heavens I don't ever find you, unless you like the taste of your own intestines. Harm won't find her, I guarantee it.

Ophelia's longtime friend, and the son of Cassie and Jared Wright, older brother of Ira. A highly skilled sorcerer and the latest in his family's lineage of magic practitioners. He possesses psychic abilities inherited from his mother, in a ploy to breed a psychic magus by the witch's court. Any use of this ability will probably fry him alive. Eternally a smartass and hates the general population.

Ira Wright

The hero saves their friend, right? So go do it. Be the hero they want you to be. Screw destiny.

Kanon's younger brother, and the second son of Cassie and Jared Wright. He developed Sturluson's syndrome just like his father, and possessed neither his mother's psychic abilities or his father's sorcery skills, rendering him fairly useless in the eyes of the Witch's Council. Attempting to throw off the stigma following him around, he decided rebelling would be the best course of action, becoming an incessant prankster and smartass in a direct attitude foil to his brother.

Belial, aka Emilie Himmelreich

Do you believe that all good people find one another, eventually?

68th of the High Council of Hell, Celia summoned her but Ophelia ended up with the contract. Originally a human girl, born in the 1100s of the former Holy Roman Empire in what became Germany. Has a long history with Xander, her familiar and (surprisingly) elder of hell.

Xander Moore

Hey, hey, didn't you ever notice how the stars never appear in bright cities with lots of lights? Maybe they don't like the technology.

Familiar of Belial and a side member of the High Court of Hell. Originally just a human and born in the 700s in the Kingdom of Sussex, his father sold him out to Hell when he was young in exchange for greater prosperity for the rest of the family, condemning Xander to a life of servitude to hell. Has a long history with Belial.

Celia Krueger

I once thought I had a part in tragedy, but...no, everything was a comedy. I was destined for a farce comedy since birth.

Ophelia's older sister and the Big Bad of the series. Incredibly deceptive and twisted in her motives, planning to unleash hell on earth just because she can. Clearly she's read the Evil Overlord List, as she's often Dangerously Genre Savvy and hard to predict. Her two main weaknesses seem to be a) her own pride, and b) Alice.

Alice Lestrange

And all the little girls and boys come out to play when the sun sets.

Celia's closest friend and her chief partner in crime. She belonged to a British family of devout Buddhists, and was a noted scam artist and thief while alive, turning her into a jikininki upon her death.

Sallos, aka Evangeline

The 19th demon of the High Court of Hell, a grigori named Evangeline. She fell from grace upon attempting to drag souls from Hell in reform efforts, accused of breaking the natural order of things. She seems content with her position in Hell, viewing trying to escape and go back to Heaven a futile effort. One of the few demons who aren't ruthless bastards, she's extremely pleasant to be around in terms of attitude, never letting go of the personality she once had as an angel.

Hecate Sturluson, aka Bael

Mikaela

"My, my...a thousand holy lights? But dear, even a thousand armies couldn't save you now."

The head archangel.

Gabriella

Hail, fellows! ...nice taste in decor.

Raphael

Sariel

"They call me Sariel. The angel of death, Samhain's spirit, the Mother Witch...what would you prefer?"

Lucifer

"Be kind and bring back tacos."

Isis

Reach for the heavens, collect the stars! Gather the moon in your pocket! I believe in you, dear...do you believe in me?
