* [[Meaningful Name]] - "Xing" means "star", while "Cai" is "glory"; from an in-story perspective, she represents "the star that lights the path for Shu".

* [[The Other Darrin]] - In the localization of DW5, she was voiced by Carrie Savage. Since [[Warriors Orochi|the crossover]], she has been voiced by Wendee Lee, who imitated Savage's voice tone in those games. But then in DW7, Lee shifts to a significantly deeper, throatier voice, making the difference not just noticeable, but STRIKING. This is also to match the characterization provided by [[Junko Noda]], who got Xing Cai as a much more stoic girl (whereas Carrie made Xing Cai sound more cheery and high-pitched)

* [[Retcon]] - An odd example. In DW7's final stage, she appears to be killed in battle. However, in Liu Shan's Legend Mode stage in DW7XL, which takes place after Cheng Du, her death and the death of {{spoiler|Jiang Wei}} is undone.
