Film Roman is an animation studio founded in 1984 by former Bill Melendez Productions director Phil Roman. Its first work includes the animated specials based on Garfield, as well as Garfield and Friends. Since then, they have worked on a number of other animated media, such as Bobby's World, The Simpsons (seasons 4 onward, after animation production has been moved from Klasky -Csupo), King of the Hill, The Critic, the infamous Tom and Jerry: The Movie, Mother Goose and Grimm, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, The Mask, the first two seasons of Family Guy, The Oblongs, Mission Hill, X-Men: Evolution, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, Slacker Cats, The Goode Family, Dan Vs., and Beavis and Butthead (2011 series).

However, in 1999, Roman left the company, but has yet formed another animation studio called Phil Roman Entertainment, which has produced Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.
