* The Gulf Coast oil disaster. That was just ''one'' oil well. There are thousands of offshore oil wells around and all of them are slowly being eaten away by salt water. Not all of these oil wells have relief wells or other stopgaps in event of emergency. If they do have safety features, there is no guarantee the safety features won't also fail (like they kept doing in the Gulf). There are also increasing reports of violent oceanic storms to batter the aging, rusting metal....
