Game of Thrones/Characters/House Lannister: Difference between revisions

* [[Affably Evil]]: It's kind of hard to remember to hate the guy when he's joking with Tyrion or trading war stories with Jory Cassel. And then he brutally stabs the latter through the eye. Quite the turnaround to further remind the audience of the "evil" part.

* [[Anti-Villain]]: Unlike in the novels, where he {{spoiler|seems like a monster for the first two books until he gets a [[Sympathetic POV]] in the third}}, the series is setting up some of his sympathetic traits earlier on and giving him more screen time.

* [[Big Brother Instinct]]: Toward Tyrion.

* [[Bodyguard Betrayal]]: The source of his infamous nickname: Kingslayer. Even worse for him, in that it was [[The Caligula|Aerys]] that he killed, and while almost everyone is happy for such a [[Complete Monster]] to be dead, they still dislike Jaime for having broken his oath to protect the king. Somewhat justified by the high premium that is (at least publicly) placed on honor.
