* In Halo, set about five hundred or so years in the future, the UNSC apparently still uses twentieth-century South African 20mm anti-materiel rifles (albeit converted to semiautomatic fire and with the magazine in the bottom rather than the side of the rifle).
* The Grease Gun shows up in the non-WWII game Soldier of Fortune 2, in which it serves as the main assault rifle of the... Czechoslovakian army.
* Most of the Far Cry series avoids this by taking place in fictional countries. The fifth game however takes place in Montana and gets really weird.
** The only pump action shotguns are the Baikal MP-133, a Russian shotgun that isn't imported into the US, and the SPAS which barely was. Mossbergs, Remingtons, Winchesters or the many Chinese clones of those three are nowhere to be seen.
** The antique Nazi Germany MP40 is everywhere.
** The flamethrower is based on a Soviet LPO-50, rather than any American or improvised design.
** The bolt action sniper rifle is a CZ 527. These are imported into the US, that doesn't explain how the 7.62x39 (a cartridge notorious for a very steep drop and utterly unsuited for sniping) chambered firearm is employed as a sniper rifle.
** The Skorpion Vz.61 hasn't been used in the US, but could be justified by the enemies reproducing them from easily obtained parts kits though no indication of such is ever given in game.
