* [[Bishonen]]: Iai Bancho. Later, Shirobara Bancho. {{spoiler|Nenchaku}} Bancho appears like this for a few moments, even prompting Gouriki Banchou to [[Say It Withwith Hearts|nearly squee]]... and then we get to the [[Squick]].

* [[Butt Monkey]]: Nenbutsu Banchou tends to get this treatment within the [[Five -Man Band]].

* [[The Cape (trope)]]: Gouriki Bancho believes herself to be this.

* [[Charles Atlas Superpower]]: Kongoh has plenty of these, such as his [[Megaton Punch]], being [[Made of Iron]], and his [[WalkWalking Onon Water|Walking On Water]], which can hardly be [[Justified|justified]] by his being a towering mass of muscle... {{spoiler|And then we see his father and realize he's [[Not Quite Human]].}} Also, if they aren't an outright freak of nature (like, say, Nenbutsu Bancho), Bancho tend to have these.

* [[Code Name]]: All the Bancho have one, which is [[Lampshaded|lampshaded]] before we even see one when Kongoh labels a [[Mook]] "Homerun Bancho" but then realizes his mistake afterwards.

* [[Contest Winner Cameo]]: The author holds contests for original characters, redraws his favorites in his own style, and puts them on chapter covers. So far, a lot of different ones have made it into the story, three as part of a [[Five -Bad Band]] and others to [[Worf Effect|lose]] to new villains. {{spoiler|Though it seems like the Dark Student Council is composed of contest winners that weren't part of the Twenty-Three District Project.}}

** Oyanana of all people gets one in the Machine Banchou arc. {{spoiler|When Machine Banchou's forces take over Raimei High School while Kongoh is out of commission, at first Oyanana is the only one willing to stand against them despite being one of the weakest characters in the series. He then single-handedly destroys a [[Mecha -Mooks|Protopon]], inspiring the rest of the school to fight back with him.}}

* [[Curb Stomp Battle]]: Machine Bancho is a walking depositor of these.

* [[Deceptively -Human Robots]]: Inverted; you realize Machine Bancho is a robot before you see his body, [[Nightmare Fuel|which freaks his opponents out even more]] when they start thinking they're fighting a human, and he's, well, not. Is possibly a [[Ridiculously Human Robot]], due to his musings about {{spoiler|the nature of death in living creatures}}, as well as his flashbacks to one "Dr. Tsukina".

* [[Distracted Byby the Sexy]]: Played with; Iai Bancho [[Chaste Hero|can't look at the sexy]] and [[Eye Scream|pays dearly for it]].

* [[EverythingsEverything's Better Withwith Dinosaurs]]: Kyoryu Bancho, a [[Contest Winner Cameo]] who [[Worf Effect|shows up for one panel]].

* [[For the Evulz]]: Apparently the reason why Hikyou Banchou {{spoiler|transferred the rest of the [[Five -Man Band]] into Kongou's class}}.

* [[The Gunslinger]]: Shageki Bancho, who wants to use guns to protect people. He's got [[Gun Fu]] and [[Guns Akimbo]], as well as a team of other gunmen, one of which is a teammate with a [[Sniper Rifle]] for backup. {{spoiler|Predictably, the [[Guns Are Worthless]] against Machine Banchou.}}

* [[Healing Factor]]: Kongoh is implied to have one of these, as other characters get beaten up and they take a while to heal. Oyanana even got [[Put Onon a Bus]] he was beaten so badly at one point, whereas Kongoh treats {{spoiler|[[Look Both Ways|getting hit by a truck]]}} as [[I Can Still Fight|only a]] [[Only a Flesh Wound|flesh wound]], and even recovers from it by the end of the battle.

* {{spoiler|[[The Hero Dies]]: Kongoh gets killed by Machine Bancho. There's been no evidence that he could [[Back Fromfrom the Dead|get better]], although he later does.}}

* [[Honor Before Reason]]: Bakunetsu Bancho's "reason" for {{spoiler|saving everyone else after Kabuki Bancho activates the [[Self -Destruct Mechanism]]}} is because he couldn't call himself hotblooded otherwise.

Also the Kongou siblings' parents. Their dad is a man-mountain and their mom was normal-sized. It's best not to think how all 3 were conceived.

* [[Laser -Guided Amnesia]]: Machine Bancho seems to be suffering from this, but it would be [[Justified Trope|justified]] since he's, well, [[Exactly What It Says Onon the Tin|a machine.]]

* [[Manipulative Bastard]]: Shirobara Bancho has elements of this when he decides to give Hikyou Bancho some [[Laser -Guided Karma]].

** If [[Death Note (Manga)|L, Light,]], and [[Code Geass|Lelouch]] donated their DNA to create the ultimate magnificent bastard, you'd likely get Hikyoua Bancho: Until Machine Banchou's appearance, he is the only Banchou able to cause Kongou severe injuries, the most impressive trick causing Kongou to be hit by a freakin' semi truck! And he manages to perform all of these tricks while making sure that there is no way for his opponent to counter attack. He later defeats an enemy by {{spoiler|drugging his food with laxatives the morning before the fight, and afterwards, as payback for trying to kill him and his friends, drugs him again, drags him into the woods, then beats him bloody. The victim is left a hikikomori, too scared to eat his favorite foods in fear of them being drugged again.}} Hikyou is a [[Magnificent Bastard]] of high caliber.

* [[My God, What Have I Done?]]: The end result of Gouriki Bancho being both an [[Idiot Hero]] and a [[Well -Intentioned Extremist]].

* [[No Name Given]]: Played with; all the Bancho have names that they freely give out when they introduce themselves, but then they say what their [[Code Name|code names]] are and we never hear their real names again, leading to [[Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep"|Everyone Calls Them Bancho]]. Subverted with Kongoh, whose [[Code Name]] ''is'' his [[Meaningful Name]].

* [[Noble Demon]]: Since his [[Heel Face Turn]], Hikyou Banchou takes every opportunity he can to remind everyone that he's only part of the [[Five -Man Band]] as part of his plan to be the last man standing. Even if there's some truth to it, there's the matter of {{spoiler|going into a [[Tranquil Fury]] when Kongoh is killed by Machine Banchou, going so far as to take the latter on all by himself.}}

* [[One -Winged Angel]]:{{spoiler|Kongoh, when he applies his muscle swelling to his entire body to create "Violent Mode"- capable of taking on Machine Banchou, who [[No -Holds -Barred Beatdown|previously killed him with no effort]], [[Worf Effect|with]] ''[[Curb Stomp Battle|ease]]''.}}

As a testament to their strength, one was able to take out six Banchou with a [[One -Hit Kill]], and later on defeat Ourou and Iai Banchou. The other one took on Nenbutsu, Gouriki, Hikyou and Sasori Banchou, losing only when Kongoh himself kicked his ass -- and even then he still managed to escape.}}

* [[WalkWalking Onon Water]]: Kongoh pulls this off on a piranha infested pool, and berates the members of Nenbutsu's cult when they compare his [[Charles Atlas Superpower]] to [[No Such Thing Asas Wizard Jesus|Jesus]].

* [[Well -Intentioned Extremist]]: Gouriki Bancho, who believes herself to be a superhero on the side of justice. The people she "saves" don't really think so.

** Many of the Banchous plans to improve Japan. Housing situation problem? Stick everyone in 4x4x4 boxes for homes. Food shortages? Everyone eat bugs. This tends to be [[Lampshaded]].

* [[The Worf Effect]]: {{spoiler|Wolf Fang, a group made up of the seven remaining Banchous, is set up to be a reprise of the Five Dark Vows arc to reach the end of the 23 District Project. They get set up by the Dark Student Council, and all but the leader are taken down in a [[One -Hit Kill]]. That's not one shot each. TOTAL.}}

* [[WorldsWorld's Strongest Man]]: Kongoh gives the impression of being this. [[It Got Worse|Then you meet Gouriki Bancho]], though Kongoh beats her in the end.

** And then it turns out that Kongoh went easy on her because his full attacks would have knocked her straight into some kind of hyper acid. When they have a rematch after [[Too Dumb to Live|Gouriki Bancho's misunderstanding]], she doesn't last past the first hammer.
