Mega Man Zero/Awesome: Difference between revisions

* To be fair, Zero has far too many moments of awesome, but the best in this troper's opinion is the fourth game's final moments. Weil (who's human, which normally means the good guys won't kill him) is taunting Zero for his ideals on justice, just like everybody's been doing throughout the series. Zero's response? "{{spoiler|[[World of Cardboard Speech|I never cared about justice, and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!]]}}" Cue final boss battle.

** Not only that, but Zero has ''finally'' found the answer to the question that's been screaming in his head for a century. " What am I fighting for?" {{spoiler|Iris's death}} is no longer in vain. {{spoiler|And Zero goes out in a blaze of glory so bright that even the heavens must bow their heads.}}

*** Really, ''everything'' about the lead-up to that battle screams AWESOME. Zero gave us ''two'' series' worth of reasons to [[Ensemble Darkhorse|like him]], and in turn it also gave us only ''two games'' (plus a [[All There in the Manual|drama track]]) to [[Complete Monster|do the exact opposite with Weil]]. The bastard's just been asking for it, and adding the elements above, it gave us a [[Grand Finale]] truly worthy of a ''Mega Man'' series. {{spoiler|And, aside from the series' biggest [[Tear Jerker]]}}, [[And There Was Much Rejoicing|There Was Much Rejoicing]], among [[And the Fandom Rejoiced|fans]] and in-game characters alike.

** Furthering his badassery is the fact that he doesn't even have a Buster at all... The Complete Works Artbook reveals that he just picked up the worthless pea-shooter Milan was using, and it was upgraded on contact to shoot buster-pellets instead of 9mm rounds.

* [[Bonus Boss|Phantom]], arguably freshly-[[Heel Face Turn|turned]], and after giving Zero a [[Secret Test of Character]], [[Dare to Be Badass|challenges Zero to rise up to the challenge against Omega]]. A [[Crowning Moment of Awesome|CMoA]] for both of them, seeing as Phantom just ''encouraged'' Mr. [[Badass]] ''[[Up to Eleven|to be even more]]'' [[Badass]]. As for Zero, well, [[Climax Boss|we already know what we're going to expect now,]] [[Crowning Moment/Video Game Bosses|don't we?]]

* ''Neige'' gets one of these when she tells Weil that she'd rather laugh death in the face than endure a living death under his rule, before giving him the middle finger with a ''flashbang''. Who says Reploids have to get all the glory?
