* [[And the Fandom Rejoiced]]: There were a lot of cheers from the fanbase when they learned from a Kojima Productions Podcast that Codec conversations will not only be in the game, but there might even be a lot more conversations than there were in ''[[Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots]]''.
* [[Broken Base]]: Many fans were driven away from the game when it was revealed that there would be no stealth aspect and that ''Metal Gear Solid 4'''s ending and Raiden's former character traits were basically thrown out the window.
** Which is odd, considering that while it's no longer the main focus the stealth aspect is still there and all the trailers so far have been about Raiden doing badass things, so as far as we know he's still the same guy that he was in Metal Gear Solid 4.
