* [[Dark And Troubled Past]]: In the past, before pockets of coexistence between humans and monsters were present, she saved a man named Alan from a mortal injury from ravenous sharks using the healing power of her mermaid blood. The two of them eventually fell in love, but were discovered. Laura was sentenced to be executed whiledue to this, and as such she asked that her execution is done by skewering, so that she would have the most bloodiest death possible so that Alan committedcould survive using the blood she would leave suicidebehind. Alan learned of this however and couldn't bear to live without his Beloved and, in his grief, voluntarily drank a batch of poison in hoping it would spare her after his death. When she heard of this, Laura fled back to the sea, now with a '''very''' deep grudge against humans.
