Earth pony. But also consider and remember the fact that the ponies who founded Ponyville were actually Applejack's great-grandparents, making Twilight's act of rule-breaking especially disrespectful towards Applejack.
** The mayor gives one to just about ''everyone else'' afterwards, since their arguments and bumbling have delayed spring another year round.
