* An early idea for ''[[The Lord of the Rings (film)|The Lord of the Rings]]'' grand finale was to [[Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?|show Aragorn battling Sauron]] in the last battle. Sauron (just an [[Faceless Eye|gigantic red eye]] up to this point) would first be seen as a [[wikipedia:Image:Annatar.jpg|tempting angelic bishonen]] (Kate Winslet in cameo) who then transform into the gigantic armored fighter seen in the first movie's prologue. The filmmakers eventually decided that this was silly (and an inconsistency, since they had decided that Sauron wasn't supposed to be powerful and capable of fighting without his ring) and replaced the armored Sauron with a troll.
