After Dean Halsey threatens to expel both Dan and Herbert, Meg desperately tries to plead to Dan to have West apprehended so they could live in peace, but is utterly heartbroken when Dan chooses to help West. {{spoiler| After watching her re-animated father go crazy, she's reduced to tears and in disbelief that Dan would go along with West's fake story. When Dan tells her the truth, she breaks down after letting it sink in. The last of her breaking happens when Hill kidnaps her using her father as muscle. Her being surrounded by corpses and about to be orally raped by a trusted friend of her fathers nearly destroys her mind completely. The second occurs, when Dan then discovers that West is using his basement as a laboratory for his Re-Animation experiments. Using Rufus as a guinea pig. In which after helping West fend off a Re-Anmated and pissed off Rufus, he offers Dan a worse deal. To help assist him in his experiments in exchange for saving lives, fame, fortune and immortality. Dan's reluctant at first, disbelieving him until he sees the results. After Dean Halsey threatens to have Dan and Herbert expelled, Dan seals the deal by helping West sneak into the morgue to prove it to Dean that the Re-Agent works. Further ruining his own life and others as the result.
