* [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq8Rk6lN_28 Game Land 3], a remix of Starlight Carnival Act 1's music using the Game Gear's chiptune sounds. It definitely sounds like something straight out of that era, and it's beautiful. Not that the other Game Land songs aren't great either.

 

* The game's [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5dJ7uUhd5E&hd=1 remix] of [[Sonic Battle|Emerald Beach]] is [[TV Tropes Made of Win Archive]].

* To start with, the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV6leJ_mq0s Hub World Music.] ALL of it, especially the way the music transitions based on what stage/rival/boss you're near. For best results, try spindashing or boosting back and forth through the hub world at least once. It'll blow your mind

* The [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlrwjBZZ80g Skill Shop theme] has probably the most unlikely of songs to remix for it, but it fits.

* [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS89E3lY9rU The ending theme] is possibly the most upbeat and happy ending song I've ever heard.

 

 

* I would like to name here the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDvJNpBEu0E Green Hills] (yes, that's hills with an S) Zone tune from the Sega Master System version of ''Sonic 2''. What's special about it, you may ask? Well, I didn't think there was anything at first, until it reached a certain point... and then I froze, my eyes widening in amazement, and then laughed and began to sing along: "Toot toot Sonic warrior, toot toot Sonic warrior..." It's "Sonic - You Can Do Anything" from the Japan/Europe version of Sonic CD!!! Even better is that ''Sonic CD'' was made way after the Master System version of ''Sonic 2'', so for ''Sonic CD'' they took a tune from a (probably) lesser-known ''Sonic'' game and turned it into a song. THAT is awesome.

* The [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dot0iGpUL5I Sunset Park Act 3] music from ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble|Sonic Triple Trouble]]'', on top of being awesome, caught off guard many players, this troper included, who completed Act 2 and didn't expect the game to immediately segue into Act 3, with no end-of-stage bonus screen or title card in between.

** I think that [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etrWLY6d_sg the boss theme], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0GMFIBHic0 Robotnik Winter], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEYhEHZvDRk Atomic Destroyer] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0nLg7AiHho the Final Boss theme] also deserve mention, especially if you enhance the PSG using an emulator.

 

* The [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY0oUYel_40&fmt=18 Boss Theme] tends to be overlooked but it's quite catchy!

* [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6apIXTeqO0U&feature=related&fmt=18 Lava Powerhouse]. Holy shit. Oh and the very catchy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbEfadBoE70&feature=related&fmt=18 Toxic Caves], which is a great piece of music to start the first level with.

* The [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHZd97zVe7Q options music] often gets a [[Sensory Abuse|bad rep,]] but it's still a great song.

* So am I the only one here who loved [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXECQNnTDJs This Horizon]? I mean I thought it was a really great theme for the title screen and even think it would be worthy of someone creating and singing lyrics for it (not that I could plus My vocals aren't that great).

Simply put, Richard Jaques is a phenomenal composer.

** Say what you will, [[Tropers/SGYDK|This Troper]] loves the whole soundtrack from that game. Especially [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY9m2sHQwLs Can You Feel the Sunshine] and [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAeBXh25NiQ Back In Time].

** Sonic Generations remix of [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzMMcGI5Vac Super Sonic Racing] with a very approrpate tech update.

 

 

* What about this one? [[Sonic Shuffle|It]] wasn't a great game, but it did have some pretty good music; [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqQN88lJZSk Blizzard Coast] for example.

* Metal Sonic's theme for [[Sonic the Fighters|this game]], [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5FW0gXNkco Never Let It Go], is one of the lesser known and more underrated themes in the franchise.

* Sonic Advance [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ15iMYs5Rk Invincibility]. Sound familiar? Interestingly, they were going to use a different [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOgo4cU_4QY Invincible song], but they decided to go nostalgic, and instead it went to be used in Sonic Advance 2 and 3.
