Players apply for characters and come up with their own plots, but are encouraged to interact with the other players on the board. Recently this has been followed through with a number of [[Apocalypse How\|Apocalypse]]/[[Take Over the World\|World Domination]]/[[Super Registration Act\|Registration Act]] arcs, to varying degrees of success. Unlike boards such as [[DC Nation]], the Basement (so identified because the RPGs are at the bottom of the boards...[[Basement Dweller\|no other reason]]...) has a number of RPGs to play on from both DC and Marvel, as well as other continuites based upon the player's own universe. Each RPG is split into different seasons, which last more than a year in real time.
