One of the other people in the room had a major chip on her shoulder about the fact that the cat owner was cosplaying Equius from Homestuck, so she took the cat out of the carrier they were staying in and chucked them out of the hotel. The cat owner later finds their beloved pet lying in the road, bleeding to death, because they'd been run over by a car. Completely devastated, they scoop up the cat and start singing "You are my sunshine" to it as it dies in their arms.
