* [[Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness]]: The Dreammaker has a rather advanced dictionary at times, and [[Delusions of Eloquence|unlike Blob]], seems to get it right (...we think...).

* [[Big Friendly Dog|Big Friendly Dogfish]]: Very "boisterous" as the Dreammaker puts it, but very friendly overall.

** [[Angry Guard Dog|Angry Guard Dogfish]]: He is merciless to the Urpneys when they try to intrude however.

* [[Silent Snarker]]

 

* [[Heroes Prefer Swords]]: Wears a sword on his belt in the first season, {{The [[Goggles Do Nothing]] which remains there unused}} outside the first two episodes. It disappears altogether in later episodes.

* [[Idiot Ball]]: A lot of times, the Dreamstone got stolen due to his carelessness with it, either disobeying an order from the Dream Maker or cluelessly leaving it in harm's way.

* [[The Klutz]]: Not ''nearly'' as much as the Urpneys, but it's definitely there at times.

* [[Mr. Imagination]]: Pretty much Rufus' defining trait in the pilot, and the key reason he searched for employment from the Dream Maker. Oddly only appears in a handful of episodes later.

* [[The Meddling Kids Are Useless]]: Starting from the second season, Rufus became rather ineffective in stopping the Urpneys, usually relying on dumb luck or his more competant peers sorting things out [[Despite the Plan]].

* [[The Comically Serious]]: Though rather intimidating, his role in the show largely consists of banter with his minions, a lot of which is pretty funny.

* [[Determinator]]: He ''really'' wants the Dreamstone.

* [[Knight of Cerebus]]: [[The Comically Serious|Though not]] [[Not So Above It All|without his]] [[Nightmare Retardant|own comical moments]], is a far more sinister and intimidating villain than his minions by miles, usually the odd occasion he has active involvement in a plan is indication things are going to get ''a bit'' more serious.

* [[Cloudcuckoolander]]: To extremes.

* [[Comedic Sociopath]]: Enjoys torturing Blob and his men, actually thrives on the idea Zordrak will do to them what [[You Have Failed Me|he did to their predecesor]].

* [[Gadgeteer Genius]]: As buffoonish as he is, most of his inventions are very intricate and work exactly as are intended. It often more their mishandling by him or Blob's team that is their downfall.

* [[Middle Management Mook]]: Seems to be given a higher position than most of Zordrak's mooks. As a result he sees himself as superior to the other Urpneys, constantly giving orders or abusing them. All the while he is usually just as incompetant and spends the majority of spare time from making gadgets acting as Zordrak's favorite punching bag.

* [[Psycho Supporter]]: To Zordrak, when not trying to usurp his throne for himself anyway.

* [[Verbal Tic]]: Often lets out a big slobbery rasp after finishing a sentence.

* [[Villain Protagonist]]

* [[Cloudcuckoolander]]: Not as much as Urpgor, but definitely not all there.

* [[Delusions of Eloquence]]: Blob's [[Malaproper]] tendencies are most obvious when he's trying to sound intellectual and/or authoritative.

* [[Drill Sergeant Nasty]]: Sgt Blob plays with this, for the large part he has all the key traits of one and frequently drives the other Urpneys mad as a result, but it is presented in a harmless slapstick manner and he does frequently convey [[Pet the Dog|a genuine camaraderie towards his cadets]].
