Link gets trapped in the mirror, which drained the Triforce of courage from him. The second Ganon is imprisoned and the Wand used up, the King boldy celebrates with a huge goblet of wine and dies days after. With Link weakened and the king and both artifacts out of the way Ganon takes over.
