** Also from the book, it appears Wiseau did not spend years building up money specifically with the idea of making this movie on his own. Rather he was already quite wealthy off of owning numerous properties (at least as far as Sestero could discern), to the point of no longer caring how much money he spent on new hobbies and obsessions like trying to get into acting or making a movie.
