Fans often assume that she also "westernizes" her first name to "Karen" at the same time, or occasionally that she really ''is'' named Karen, and "Kallen" is her attempt to reject her "slave name". None of this reflects on canon; in fact, characters who only know her in her Stadtfeld identity still call her "Kallen".
