Fushigiboshi no Futagohime/YMMV
- Broken Base: Mentioning Gyu! will probably incite some flame wars. While half of the fanbase enjoy its new Boarding School concept, the other half cite the Oddly-Named Sequel 2: Electric Boogaloo as one of the weaker parts of the show due to breaking its tradition of a Cute Witch format into a standard Magical Girl Warrior show (done probably because of the success of the second half of the original series, which followed a similar format). In addition to its abundance of Filler and the introduction of Loads and Loads of Characters when there were plenty of characters from the original show who haven't received Character Development, there will be plenty of arguments about it. Some people also believe that the original director of the series, Junichi Sato, leaving during the beginning of Gyu! might have had something to do with it.
- Crowning Moment of Awesome: The fight scene at the end of episode 26 showcased badass fighting skills from Shade and would lead to a Downer Ending where Team Rocket Wins and The Reveal.
- Fan Preferred Pairing: Rein × Eclipse was, at least, initially more popular than the Official Couple Fine/Eclipse. In a popularity poll done by the Japanese fan community, Rein/Eclipse topped the list. Even the artist of the manga adaptation, Mayuki Anan, seems to lean towards this pairing as well since this pairing got the most Ship Tease despite that all pairings were left ambiguous in the end.
- Les Yay: Sure, Altezza got paired with Auler, but there was plenty of this between her and Sophie.
- Memetic Mutation: When Rein got pissed with Altezza in episode 10 of the first series, she yells, "What was that?" ("Nani yo") to which some Japanese users phonetically transcribed it as "Haniho" and ran with it.
- Ruined FOREVER: There was a lot of Fan Dumb when the title for episode 6 of Gyu! came out. The title, "Fine's Big Fart Experiment", had viewers upset to the point of flaming producer Junichi Sato's blog, as they had assumed Fine would be the one doing the farting. Strangely, after this episode, he left the production crew, but whether it was because of Creator Breakdown or Creative Differences, we'll never know.
- Ship-to-Ship Combat: Fine × Eclipse and Eclipse × Rein fans were constantly at strife. Meanwhile, interestingly, no one really cared about who Bright would end up with.
- Toy Ship: Milky and Nalro got some Ship Tease and both of them don't even know how to talk yet! Nalro hasn't even learned how to walk!
