In order for this to feel right to the players, the developers made Syn Tek Residential the meanest level in the campaign, filled with those pesky Parasites. Thus, the name Syn Tek invokes negative reactions...

• Unless Syn Tek is related to Unreal in some way, it might be a reference to the Sin games, which featured Sin TEK, a company creating mutant humans in a bid to take over the world. For people who've played the Sin series, that name would already evoke negativity.
