* [[Anti-Air]]: Campaign mode has one mission where the player is tasked with engaging an attacking Su-25 attack jet with a Stinger missile and another where you must destroy enemy anti-air batteries in preparation for an allied airstrike. In multiplayer mode you can man anti-aircraft vehicles such as the Tunguska.
* [[Banned in China|Banned in Iran]]: As of November 2011, [http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15798017 Iran has officially banned the game there. Not only that, but Iranian gamers have made a petition to let EA/DICE apologize over the game's content].
* [[Dueling Games]]: Explicit setup and marketed by [[Electronic Arts]] to take on [[Call of Duty]]. The [[Tagline]] for ''Battlefield 3'' is "Above and Beyond the Call".
** Also, BF3 is an opportunity for EA to tout its new Origin online service, which is a pretty blatant attempt to compete with Valve's Steam service.
** There are also parallels between Battlelog and Call of Duty Elite. Both are game-centric social networks, with features such as clan organization and stat tracking. There's even Battlefield Premium, which is like Call of Duty Elite Premium.
** The upcoming Close Quarters DLC make it appears that they are really going to take the fight up close to ''[[Modern Warfare]] 3'', since Battlefield series usually focuses on very large maps and long range warfare as opposed to ''[[Call of Duty]]'' series which focuses on smaller maps. The Close Quarters DLC, as the name suggest, will focus on indoor fights in tightly packed places, like most ''[[Modern Warfare]]'' series are.
* [[Every Car Is a Pinto]]: Civilian cars explode violently after shooting them with an entire magazine from an assault rifle or a few shots from a heavy machine gun or autocannon, making them a major hazard on the battlefield. Drivable military vehicles are more durable, but still explode after enough damage.

Not only do you have the figurine in the campaign, you can have a dinosaur dog tag for the multiplayer, and Wake Island even has an [[Easter Egg]] with more dinosaur figurines.
