 J. D. Shapiro: The New York Times said 'Battlefield Earth is about the extinction of the human race, and after seeing this movie I'm all for it.' From the Banana Daily they said 'I'd like to call this movie a train wreck but that's not really fair to train wrecks. Because people actually want to watch a train wreck.' And my absolute favourite, 'This is the worst fucking piece of shit fucking movie I've ever had the displeasure of fucking seeing.' That was from my mom.
