Line 2:
* Cross-Dressing Voices: Linda and Tina are voiced by Dan Mintz and John Roberts (the latter of whom makes little attempt, if any, to sound female, which actually works for the character) and the Pesto twins are voiced by Sarah Silverman and her sister.
** For that matter, most of the one-shot/background female characters seem to be played by men, too.
* Might Have BeenGag: In theThe original pitch ofhad the show,Belchers Bobas and his family were cannibals. * Name's the Same: Bob and Linda here are not the same as the ones from over here.
** The pilot episode is basically one long reference to the aborted original premise. Thanks to a false rumor, everyone in town thinks Bob is a cannibal, and he's forced to get the meat tested to prove it's just beef.
* One of Us: It's been fairly popular for fans of the show to call Tina their "Spirit Animal".
* The Other Darrin: Big Bob (Bob's father) was voiced by H. Jon Benjamin in "Bob Fires the Kids", but in "Father of the Bob", he was voiced by Bill Hader (who already does voicework on the show as Mickey the bank robber).
** It can be argued, however, that this is justified since that was a flashback Bob was having in "Bob Fires the Kids", and since he later realizes that he's doing the exact same thing to the kids that his dad did to him...
* Talking to Himself: H. Jon Benjamin voices Jimmy, Jr. and Peter Pescadero in addition to Bob.
** Also, John Roberts voices both Linda and Joscelyn (from school). If you didn't know that before, it would have become pretty obvious when you hear them speak to one another in "Gene It On".
* What Could Have Been: In the original pitch of the show, Bob and his family were cannibals. They would have served ground-up human meat to unwitting customers, while trying to keep the authorities off their trail. Naturally, something that disgusting got rejected as a series premise for network TV (it'd be a different story if it were on cable — either basic or pay-premium), but it didn't stop the first episode from alluding to it.
** Tina was also supposed to be a boy named Daniel, which explains why Dan Mintz (a boy) is voicing a girl.
** John Roberts originally auditioned to be a cast member for Saturday Night Live during the 2008-2009 season (when Amy Poehler left to have her baby and do other projects, so Lorne hired Bobby Moynihan, Abby Elliott, and Michaela Watkins). Had he been chosen, not only would John Roberts be the second male homosexual cast member (and the first one hired since 1985), but he wouldn't have been the voice for Linda.
