** The titles of the five chapters (phases) are references to five choice songs that fit the chapters' respective moods. They are ''[[Queen|Too Much Love Will Kill You]]'', ''Careless Whisper'' (the [[Seether]] version is used here in place of the George Michael original), ''[[Tales of the World|Sad Memory]]'' (used originally in {{spoiler|the battle against Kanonno}}), ''[[SaGa 3|True Divine Battle]]'', and ''[[Kamen Rider Dragon Knight|Dive into the Mirror]]'' (used originally as [[Recursive Import|the Japanese dub]]'s opening theme).

** Kyouko taunted Kit with [[Final Fantasy I|Garland's]] quip from ''[[Dissidia Final Fantasy]]'' right in the first chapter.

** Kit's last two lines in the first chapter are based on the last two lines of Jose Rizal's final poem, ''Mi Ultimo Adiós''.
