He's completely invulnerable to your attacks, you can only cause damage to him by activating four orbs with your fire attack, and then lure the statue to the center of the room before hitting a switch with your Ground Stomp attack. Oh, and you can't avoid his attacks. No matter where you are in the room, you will always take damage.
