It's too trivial for retaliatory action and can be consumed in a single sitting so it can never be recovered, but it perfectly broadcasts "We win."
** Youmu's fear of ghost stories and haunted places made to scare humans comes into play only once in a official book and is the subject of brief mentions and jokes otherwise (exactly three times, only once in a game) whereas actual ghosts leave her indifferent, yet the fandom seems to enjoy portraying her as a pathetic crybaby who shrieks at the sight of anything resembling a ghost, including her own phantom half in some extreme cases.
** Youmu has been relentlessly mocked for her "fear of ghosts", despite her not being scared of actual ghosts (she is half-phantom herself and is surrounded by ghosts and phantoms where she lives so it's patently absurd); it's more of a childish fear of made-up ghost stories and haunted places made to scare people, and this only comes up four times in total, once in ''Imperishable Night'' and three times in official books. If it weren't for the portion of the fanbase that focuses on her badass sword skills, you'd believe she is a pathetic crybaby afraid of her own shadow (or own phantom half in this case).
** There's also Keine, the unfortunate were-hakutaku who will forever be known for all the [[Touhou/Memes|CAVED]] [[Memetic Molester|people left in her wake]].
** Since the day she lost the Jeweled Pagoda of Bishamonten and needed Nazrin's help to retrieve it, Shou Toramaru has been [[Flanderization|Flanderized]] in fanon into an insufferable and incompetent scatterbrain who loses or misplaces her belongings all the time, much to Nazrin's irritation.
