Line 137:
*Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: Because ninjas are rare on the Continent, her performance is considered remarkable, but when she goes to Nippon, she finds herself outmatched by more competent ninjas like Suzume and Inukai.
*Took a Level in Badass: Following Sengoku Rance, she starts being more competent and actually reaches her Level Cap by the time of Rance X.
*Throw the Dog a Bone: See the above Took a Level in Badass. Also, as seen in Rance X Part II, she end up birthing and training her daughter Uzume, who becomes the strongest ninja who ever lived.
*Tritagonist: In Rance 03, her screentime gets expanded a lot and she has much more dialogue than Rance III, making her the third most prominent character of the game behind Sill.
*You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Purple.
Line 143 ⟶ 144:
Leila Gleckney
The Captain of the Royal Guard, a special unit of female Knights acting as Leazas Castle's protectors. She is considered the most powerful female soldier of the whole Leazas Army, and is held in high regard in the country. She first appears in Rance III/03, under Mind Control by the Fiend Ithere. Afterwards, she appeared in several games as a playable character up to Rance X. Thorough the series, she has a fair amount of Ship Tease with the General of the Leazas Red

Tillday Sharp
One of the latest recruits of the Royal Guard from the Leazas Military Academy, Tillday is a petite yet competent and very ambitious girl whose goal is to eventually become the most powerful and influential soldier of Leazas. As such, she clawed her way through the ranks with various schemes, such as using her looks and body to gain favors, waiting for many opportunities to do so, on top of having the skill to assert her position. She also developed a one-sided rivalry with the current "holder" of the title: Leila Gleckney, though the latter refused her challenge attempt for the role of Captain. Rather surprisingly, she's good friends with fellow genius Arlcoate Marius, who graduated with her when they were in the Academy, and she's also the one who recommended her to the Leazas Black
On a side note, she's mostly inspired from a character of the non-canon Kichikuou Rance, named Rafalia Musca, who shares many of her character traits and backstory.

Rick Addison
General of the Leazas Red
▲General of the Leazas Red Army and the strongest knight in the country known and feared across the world as "the Red Reaper of Leazas". While he's ordinarily the glowing picture of knighthood, he secretly possesses an extremely boyish and unthreatening face that causes him to lose all of his fighting spirit when not covered by his helmet. He first met Rance during the 7th Leazas/Helman War, where he was instantly won over by the roguish warrior's swordsmanship. While Rance was initially somewhat threatened by him, he has since grown to view him as one of the few men strong enough to earn his respect.

Line 243:
*Crippling Overspecialization: He's fantastic with a sword and... kind of a klutz with everything else.
*Crutch Character: In Rance IV. He's strong and sturdy, and very likely to carry the party throughout chapter 2, but his movement range is pitiful. While he remains useful throughout the game, his inability to move very far will likely make him quickly become far less of the One-Man Party that he is at the beginning of the game.
*Custom Uniform: Wears a heavy variant of the standard Red
*Does Not Like Spam: Doesn't like sweet potatoes.
*Dual Boss: Serves as the final boss of Kanami's route alongside Tilde in Rance IX.
Line 250:
*Early-Bird Cameo: An advertisement for the Leazas Army in Rance 01 is implied to feature him as the spokesman, though Rance doesn't pay enough attention to think much of it.
*Eleventh-Hour Ranger: Joins the party near the end as a late game bruiser in both Rance 03 and Rance VI.
*Elite Army: The Red
*Extreme Doormat: Puts up no kind of resistance when teased by others, and is quick to agree when his failures are pointed out.
*Famed in Story: Is already known as Leazas' strongest warrior at the beginning of the series.
*Farm Boy: Started life as a farmer's son in rural Leazas before getting scouted by his mentor, the previous general of the Red
<!-- * Fight Your Friend:
** He's ordered by Lia to fight against Rance at the end of Kanami's route in Rance IX in a battle to determine who Kanami will serve as the personal ninja of. Rick is depressed at the circumstances while Rance is pissed that he'd turn against him. Can optionally happen in Rance X, where Rance can challenge him to a duel out of outrage upon learning of his engagement to Leila. If Rick wins, Rance comes around to the couple and accepts that Leila is Rick's. If Rance wins, Rick calls off the wedding out of shame, Leila is infuriated and Rance is left feeling unexpectedly guilty about the entire affair.
Line 260:
** While Rick has always admired Rance, Rance gradually begins to respect Rick to a certain degree as they continue fighting alongside each other. By the time of Rance X, their friendship is a platonic version of Everyone Can See It.
** He also qualifies as this with Hubert. While Rick initially viewed Hubert, as he did all Helmanians, as nothing but a villain, he steadily grew to respect him as both a warrior and as a man over the course of Rance IV. By the time of Rance IX, he has no problem with referring to Hubert as a friend and the two clearly have a deep respect for one another.
* <!-- Frontline General: He's (in)famous for leading every charge that the Red
*Generation Xerox: The epilogue of Rance X shows his son Sturm, who looks like an orange-haired clone of him and is also a member of the Red
*Glass Cannon: His unit in Kichikuou Rance has outstanding attack power but poor defense, making it fall apart just as easily as it tears apart enemies.
*Good Is Not Soft: While he's generally rather subservient, he never backs down when he is in opposition to someone else's actions. This includes Rance, who he is otherwise completely loyal to.
Line 294:
*One-Man Army: Recognized as one in-universe. He has a very high level cap of 70 and the Sword Combat level 2 skill level, both of which result in him being a force of nature on the battlefield. This always carries into gameplay, where he is often the only character to possess a higher attack stat than Rance. The Monster Army in Rance X is absolutely floored that a human could tear through their ranks so effortlessly when they first encounter him on the battlefield. In the same game, he goes on to trade blows with both La Hawzel and Lexington, despite having no means of conventionally damaging them, and manages to hold his own.
*Parental Substitute: Ends up serving as more of a father figure to Zance than Rance himself does. While Zance would never admit it to his face, he genuinely respects Rick as his mentor.
*Passing the Torch: Passes the title of Red
*Promoted to Playable: Goes from an NPC in Rance III to a playable character in Rance IV. From a more meta perspective, he went from unplayable in the original Rance III to being a party member in the Updated Re-release Rance 03.
*Red Baron: "The Red Reaper of Leazas".
Line 307:
*Technician Versus Performer: The technician to Rance's performer. Rick trains tirelessly to perfect his swordsmanship and maintain a stable level of strength, while Rance relies mostly on improvisation in combat and tends to slack off when not on adventures. This is illustrated during their respective fights with Rolex in Rance IX, where Rick wins through his perfect sword technique while Rance wins through his unpredictability and raw strength.
*Took a Level in Badass:
** Believe it or not, Rick, who is already regarded as one of the strongest in the world, experiences this across the series. In Rance 03 he is described as fighting with no regard for his own well-being, resulting in him lacking in defense and allowing him to get defeated at various points by strong enemies. He's also noted to be somewhat lacking as a commander, and bemoans his own inability to keep his troops alive when filing a war report in Kichikuou Rance. By the time of Rance IX, his swordsmanship is described as having no weaknesses and the incarnation of the Red Army led by him is considered to be the strongest in history. By Rance X the Red
** He also went through this in his backstory, going from an untrained and cowardly Farm Boy who lost in the first round of a sword fighting tournament to the strongest swordsman in the country.
*Undying Loyalty: Possesses this towards both Leazas and Rance.
Line 334:
*Teen Genius: Became the second-in-command of Leazus' strongest army at age 17.

*The Mentor: Becomes this to Sachiko in Rance X. While Rance introduced them to each other with the intention of having Cordoba improve Sachiko's skills as a guard, a misunderstanding caused him to instruct her in singing instead. Nonetheless, they clearly get along great and have a lot of mutual respect for each other.
*Nice Guy: He's a very friendly guy who mostly takes Rance's attitude and Kinkaid's unscrupulousness in stride.
*Odd Couple: With Kinkaid. He's a Hot-Blooded patriot who's more than willing to give up his life on the battlefield while Kinkaid's a cowardly schemer who is only interested in living as comfortably as possible. This is emphasized by their respective leadership methods; while Cordoba inspires his troops by fighting alongside them on the frontlines and building camaraderie with them off the battlefield through parties and friendly competitions, Kinkaid takes the much more cynical approach of reminding them to do what they're paid for and allowing them to partake in raping and pillaging enemy territories after conquering them. Despite this, they're actually a surprisingly excellent team, as Kinkaid's preference for behind the scenes work allows him to organize the Blue

*Like Father, Like Son: She wants to follow in the footsteps of her father, but the latter doesn't want her to do it due to her being a woman.
