One of [[Adam Sandler|Adam Sandler's]] first forays into a serious drama. ''[[Reign Over Me]]'' is a 2007 melodrama about two old friends who fell out of touch and are re-united in post-9/11 New York City.

* [[Jerkass]]: Charlie's in-lawlaws's lawyer. The presiding judge even orders him at one point to "shut up.". Granted, this was in the privacy of judge's chambers.
* [[Pac-Man Fever]]: Averted. Charlie can be seen playing ''[[Shadow of the Colossus]]'' and he plays it convincingly, and if you watch carefully, he's defeating the colossi in order.
** Then again, he calls it "Shadow''s'' of the Colossus".
* [[Trauma Button]]: Anything that reminds Charlie of his deceased Wifewife and kids, will cause him to freak out. As well as put headphones on himselfheadphones blasting "Reign O'er Me." Byby [[The Who]], in an attempt to drown the trauma out. In an effort to prove he is legally insane, Charlie's Inin-lawlaws's lawyer leaves a photo of said wife and kids in front of him, knowing he'd flip out in court. While any court drama would use that as 100% proof to lock him up, it instead causes the Judgejudge to sympathize with Charlie and berate the lawyer for pulling that [[Courtroom Antic|stunt]].
* [[What the Hell, Hero?|What The Hell, Lawyer?]]: The judge has this reaction to the in-laws' lawyer in his chambers after witnessing him {{spoiler|place a picture of Charlie's dead family on the table in front of him during his "Love, Reign O'er Me" freak-out.}}
