* [[Executive Meddling]]: Joe Murray originally intended for Rocko be yellow, but Nickelodeon insisted that he be recolored a beige-ish color in order [[The Merch|to appease the wishes of a toymaker]] that ultimately never produced any Rocko merchandise. The necessitated (further) alteration of the "Trash-O-Madness" pilot.

*** [[Tom Kenny]] also lent his voice to several of the supporting cast of characters, including one of the Chameleon brothers, Really Really Big Man, and Peaches. Additionally, he also tends to be the voice behind many of the smaller characters who only make a single appearance in episodes.

** Series creator Joe Murray lends his voice as Ed's son, Ralph Bighead.

** Lampshaded in an episode where Spunky is being chased out of the Bigheads' yard by Ed, knocking over lawn darts that land on sunbathing Bev. Bev thinks she was just sunburned, and says, "Ed, come over here and put some sunscreen on my head. Ed? ED! WHAT? AM I TALKING TO MYSELF?!"

* [[What Could Have Been]]: The B-52's were not the first choice to do the theme music. Joe Murray originally wanted [[Alan Silvestri]] to do the theme music but Nickelodeon felt that he wasn't a good composer for animation. His second choice, [[Danny Elfman]], was also turned down by Nickelodeon.
