* [[Adaptational Angst Upgrade]]: Not much is known now, but Usagi's parents are apparently not together and her father was in an accident.

* [[And I Must Scream]]: Jadeite suffers, just like in the original Anime, from the "eternal sleep", which is him getting trapped in a giant crystal and sealed away somewhere. Queen Beryl remarks that he will lose his mind over and over again without ever dying.

** In Chapter 4, where a newly scarred Jadeite talks about "[[Avatar: The Last Airbender|regaining his honor]]".

** It's arguably averted as long as you read the artist's comments, since Kibate said that smoking is gross and people shouldn't do it. As well, except for one piece of promotional art, Rei hasn't yet been seen smoking, so it's not like it's had much impact on her characterization yet.
