Umbreon: Umbreon! Umbre... (And he has a handlebar moustache! I wish I had one...) }}
* Cool and Unusual Punishment: Ein certainly has some unique ways to turn a Pokemon shadow.
** Also, what happens to someone who breaks Orre's "double battles only" law.
* Dance Battler: Miror B., just like in the source material. However, here he has a special hypnotic music player that forces everyone else to dance as well.
* Department of Redundancy Department: "Or the failed attempt to get the Time Flute. Which failed."

** The author addressed this in the next chapter.
** Another minor case is having one of Folly's Whismur one of the two that previously battled Wes, as it said 'not you guys again' to Umbreon and Espeon, but it's a different one because it's a male, while the two Whismur's that battled Wes the first time were female.
*** Genders of opposing Pokemon have been known to switch despite the Pokemon being the same in the Genius Sonority games because they're randomised if they are not snaggable (e.g. Zook's Zangoose in XD can change gender between the first battle and the second when it is snaggable, but clearly Zook does not have two shadow Zangoose). The Whismur would not have pre-defined genders so it's a matter of chance of what gender they have - so the same one being in both battles is perfectly possible if it appeared that way for the author. (And as the battle in the story was breezed over, maybe a third Whismur had been sent out after the first two?) Bit too nitpicky there.
* Distracted By the Shiny: Wes is so distracted by the battle with Miror B, he forgets why he came there in the first place. (To save Plusle.)
* The Ditz: Jimmy. Sometimes Johnson as well.
Line 34:
* Efficient Displacement: Dakim creates one in Nascour's office when he obliviously leaves by walking through the wall.
* Epic Fail: At one point while trying to capture Entei, Entei just burns the snag ball thrown and when the ashes hit the ground they actually spell out "FAIL".
* Flanderization: A positive example; Johnson's idiocy is Turned Up to Eleven, and because of one scene in the game where Dakim punches Vander, Dakim has been transformed into a Captain Falcon Expy
** DAKIM PAWNCH!!!
* Funny Afro: Miror B, duh. There's an amusing moment in one chapter when Miror B tries to throw an item away, only for it to collide with and sink into his afro.
Line 57:
* Running Gag: Random references to various pastries. Also, DISHWASHERS!
* Shout-Out: In Chapter 17, a reporter throws an apple at Quagsire before taking its photo, claiming that's how they were taught to take pictures of Pokemon
** Dakim's Golem goes through the Black Knight routine, and his Metang makes several competitive battling references, as well as one quick Portal reference before it faints.
** One chapter referenced Youtube Poop, with the Relic Stone being claimed to double as a football.
** Johnson at one point mistakenly refers to Trudly and Folly as George and Fred.
** Makuhita fights for his friends.
** The truth serum mentioned in chapter six has the same side-effect as eating a Glowstem from Pikmin: uncontrollable episodes of impromptu break dancing.
** One unfortunate Magnemite shouts out "I am error!" as it gets KO'd.
