Solarians are often not so much traditional nepotists as temporarily successful players of bureaucracy which often includes incestuous alliances with criminal syndicates who have enough blackmail on them to order them around when the time comes.
** The ultimate example is, of course, the Mesan Alignment: the leadership is {{spoiler|composed of clones}} or carefully chosen and selected/engineered children of other leaders.
