It is animated by CoMix Wave Films and distributed by Toho. In Japan, the film released in November. It is released in April 2023 in English speaking countries. The film was a box office hit, quickly becoming the fourth anime film to surpass the "$300 million in box office revenue" milestone, following behind ''[[Spirited Away]]'', ''[[Your Name]]'', and ''[[Demon Slayer: Mugen Train]]''. Most of the revenue came from Asian regions.
